I am surrounded again in D&AD annuals and briefs, pencils, N60s, research upon research, however my head feels like someone is sticking tiny pins into my head. This is slightly uncomfortable.

I'm very excited to go to London, so much so I spent all day yesterday being excited, most of last night and today, I think this is why my head hurts. Over excitement. Being so excited about something really does drain it out of you, however keeps you going at the same time!

Ah see I knew there was something I was going to add, over the christmas period one of my family members bought my step brother a gift. It was called a powerball, for those of you who aren't familiar with this game, the object is basically to create high RPM, doing this right makes a wizzing noise, doing it wrong creates a clicking noise. Not only a game but strengthens your forearm.

So after hours of attempts family members where getting rather good, the expressions on their faces were quite... a picture, the pain to keep going is quite intense so once everyone is powerballed-out we found this video.

Always be careful who's advice you take

- that in itself is contradictory.

However, I found today that the most unlikely person to give advice you'd want to here sometimes can completely jump up and bite you on the ass with some pretty damn good stuff. (I, of course meant that metaphorically... although...)

So my thought behind this was the fact that if you keep an open mind, and take in everything that's said, filter out the rubbish bits your left with pretty good stuff. The same applies to most things ... so an open mind is key, not always easy but still, what is?

I do believe I'm up to 296 today. The days are counting down quickly it seems, my creativeness is pushed to extremes, so today:

Now before you think, the material is getting poor let me explain myself... the idea is to do things differently, I by doing so have done something new to me.

Picture this if you will, shopping, self service, me (obviously) scanning and packing running from end to end. I was like the customer in two halves plus the cashier, next time I do believe I will venture to a humanised till.

On reflection today, I think most people will agree this past week has been rubbish. I don't know whether there is something in the air but this week has been what they call 'pants'. So after a hour drive home I had some time to mull over things. It ocurrs to be that I have 299 days left of my 'Teens' so my mission is not to take a single day for granted. So in 299 days and I must do something different everyday no matter how big or small! Someone very wise once said, 'it is better to regret the things you have done than the things you haven't' so I think this is a good place to start.

I was lucky to find my creative partner quickly, sharing ideas and concepts is easy. We work hard but we can have a laugh also. It's also quite interesting how he can simply come up with strap lines and headings, where as I can not, many a failed attempt. (It is early days so there is plenty room for improvement) Needless to say I am accustom to the 'That's a nice thought but no' glare. All in all, everything works well, but is rather strange picking up your partners habits... So basically what's yours like?

Sometimes, advertisements have a certain affect on the way we feel or do something, this I think is the sign of an effective ad, possibly sometimes the more emotive, the better. However, while searching for ideas and imagery, I found these images each making me feel a little bit about them, something that makes them special in the way they are. Most of them have been seen a million times before...

Thousands of people have recognised themselves in this picture claiming to be the man or woman, it doesn't really matter who these people were but are shown as a symbol.

This one is nothing but slightly humorous to me... however what emotion do you think the monkey is feeling? Anger? Sadness? Who knows!

The final one I searched for especially, whatever your opinions of the man, singer or star, this is to me is purity and classical image.

Well I was in work today for 8 o'clock, and with a lack of sleep this makes everything a lot more difficult, and as listed before good ideas for ad's started coming but with no where to place them. Darn. Haha. However, while at work interacting with the general public is very interesting and informative. For example, recession, it's hitting everyone but if I had to put a picture to this word, it would be the girl I seen today. Having finished her drink, she proceeded to lick the entirety of the cup.

Impressive, it was a big mug.

Also my fave quotes from today:

"Here man! I've got the police coming to the house" - Man to girlfriend/friend

I'm sure there was a lot more amusing conversations but dipping into those two made me giggle. (Obviously the guy with the police isnt funny, i understand that - however random conversation? I think yes!)

It's offically the start of Christmas for me tomorrow as I hang up my black shirt and turn to red! Deck the halls...Tralla lalalaaaa!

Discovering slowly having a good idea takes a while and happens at inconvenient times!

For example, the unconscious mind works a treat so like when your just about to go to sleep, or while at work... but my favourite one while in the bath/shower, PEN AND PAPER AT THE READY!? I think not.

White board showers need to be invented, :D!

Ahh! Just realised its the first of November!

5 days time and it will be bonfire! I love the cold, dark nights, as strange as that seems.

Plus... It's only a few months until Christmas (deadline times) Woo!

However thats plenty to look forward to I think.

Other than utterly confuse me I really quite liked it, and telling people that in the pub is quite possibly the funniest thing I've ever seen.

Hey!

It's about time I started using a blogger.

This is entirely new to me so has taken a little while to get to grips with it.

In the past month I've learnt so many new websites, ideas and concepts I'm wondering if there is enough room to fit it all in. I'm a first year student in Sunderland Uni studying Advertising. Although I'm bais I have to say I love every minute of it.

I'm currently working on various briefs and finding out the strangest things, I've had amazing help off past years, such as Cr.Ap and Brownman, to name a few.

Well as a start I think that will do.
